I'm sure your enthusiasm for your NaNoWriMo voyage is bubbling up like yeast: on the first of November, you'll be bursting to write.
To ensure that your writing goes smoothly, and that you don't get buried under a mass of words, it's vital that you develop a system of organization for your novel.
In addition to your first draft, you need files for:
* Notes - miscellaneous notes, anything and everything related to your novel, that doesn't involve character or plot;
* Research - all novels need research;
* Character notes - your characters will change as you write, but if Marjorie has blue eyes on page three, it's not a good idea to give her brown eyes on page 133;
* Plot notes - when a delicious complication occurs to you, you need a file in which you can make a quick note while you continue work on your draft.
Prepare those files now - if you've been following our QuickStarts, you can copy those QuickStart notes to your new files.
