Write for the Web

5 Dangers of Writing for the Web

Writing Danger

In Wednesday's Fab Freelance Writing Ezine we cover the "5 Dangers of Writing for the Web".

Yes, Web writing is easy and if you know what you're doing the pay is great, but there are some dangers - from scammers, and from self-sabotage.

Here's the intro to "5 Dangers of Writing for the Web":

It's been said that online no one knows you're a dog – and when you consider all the fraudulent spam emails you receive, you know it's true.

When someone contacts you to write for them (or you respond to an ad or a Request For Proposals) you have no idea who they are. They may be legitimate – on the other hand, they may not.

The anonymity of the Web brings out the worst in some people, but as a writer, you're not anonymous: you're conducting your business, and your reputation is gold to you. Fraudsters and scammers trade on this: they know that you have your reputation to protect, and manipulate you using that knowledge.

Words Are Money Online – Get In On The Content Bonanza

This week's Fab Freelance Writing Ezine's issue is about Web writing, specifically about Private Label Rights (PLR) content. "Content" is simply a name for articles and similar material in the online world.

Web writers spend a lot of time writing content, because it's very profitable. Web writers create PLR content, and sell it online, AND they use it, too, in their own Web sites and ebooks – in essence, making money from Other Writers' Words.

I'm a member of a couple of PLR content sites which provide their members with PLR content each month. I rewrite the content, for my own niche Web sites. A niche is a site which is targeted very narrowly. For example, a niche could be: bed and breakfasts, or hypnosis for weight loss, or computer backup programs. The niche Web site earns money for you day after day, and week after week.

Niche Web sites are a way of building your own online empire, and making passive income from it.

More about PLR in this week's article, "Writers' PLR Cash Cow: Make Money With OWW (Other Writers' Work)". Subscribe to Fab Freelance Writing Ezine now, it's free. This week's issue will be out on Wednesday.

Beat Your Paycheck! Web Writing SECRETS:
How Make More Money With Web Writing Than You Ever Will With A Paycheck... In A Month Or Less
By Angela Booth

Over the past couple of years, many experienced writers are making the switch to Web writing.

Writing for the Web is fun, it's easy (NO rejections), and if you're an experienced writer or copywriter, you can make more money writing for the Web than writing for print.

New writers are making MORE money than the pros

Web writing is the future. I got talking with a new writer one day who's been writing for less than six months. This young man is doing incredibly well. And he's got a few secrets that I talked him into sharing.

I was intrigued - "John" is forging ahead, carving new territory. I discovered new ways of thinking from John, and I know you will too. ("John's" now a ghostwriter, so it's not his real name. He doesn't want his new clients learning his secrets. :-))

Enjoy this ebook - and start writing for the Web today

Beat Your Paycheck! Web Writing SECRETS makes a great companion for my other Web writing ebook, Writing For The Web.

Beat Your Paycheck! Web Writing SECRETS is aimed at beginning writer, but we old pros learn from it too.

Enjoy. :-)

Write anywhere, when you write for the Web

Computer Beach-Sm

I write for the Web from Sydney, Australia. I know Web writers who live in the UK, in Spain, and in tiny rural towns in the US.

We write for companies all over the world, and we're so busy that we all regularly turn down work.

Here's a snippet from my ebook, "Writing For The Web", which helps you to become a successful, confident Web writer:

Four: Find businesses which need your services online As you wander around the Web -- and you should do this regularly, just to get an idea of what's out there -- you'll come across sites which are, well, awful. Aside from common grammatical errors, and spelling mistakes, you'll find Web site copy which sounds as though it's been written by a computer, not by a person.

Send such sites an e-mail message, offering your services. Personalize the e-mail, so that it's not perceived as spam. Offer to jazz up the copy on the site, and tell them your fees. Many online (and offline, for that matter) business owners don’t know what a writer is or does, or even that there are people who make their living from offering writing services.

Discover how to write for the Web. It's the freelance writing career of the new millennium.
