Money goldmine - write articles for the Web and get paid
Can you make money writing short articles for the Web?
Yes, you can.
Many writers do just that. There's a huge potential to make a full time income and (much, much) more, when you write articles for the Web.
How much can you make? Some writers write and sell Private Label Rights (PLR) content, and are making six-figure incomes, much more income than they could make at a conventional job - and they've got the freedom to write when and where they please.
However, as you might expect, there are pitfalls when it comes to writing articles and making a good income. Some writers get trapped in low-pay ghettos. This is a shame, because they fail to see that with a little initiative they could be making the income of their dreams.
How? OK, let's see.
Requirements for making a top income writing Web articles
* Realize that writing for the Web is NOT writing for print
When you write for the Web, your article are short, at 400 to 600 words, maximum. They're pithy. They also take keywords (the words searchers use when looking for the information via the search engines) into account.
* Realize that you're not working a JOB. You're a business person
Although writing for the Web is easy - if you can write and send email, you can write for the Web - some writers get in their own way. They refuse to create a Web site for example, when they could go to Blogger.com and create a blog within 90 seconds.
Let's be frank. If you don't have a Web site where people can see samples of your writing, and can hire you, you won't make the money you should be making. You're trapped in a "job" mindset, where you expect others to give you orders.
* Realize that credibility counts
Credibility is everything online. YOUR NAME is everything. So you need to promote your name, and your expertise. Web writers who have credibility charge for all articles they write in advance: they have the name which entitles them to do that - people know who they are.
A professional Web writer gets paid up front, unless he already has a relationship with a client, who pays him for a certain number of articles each month.
* Realize that you need to invest in yourself and in your article writing business
Businesses invest, or they collapse. It's exactly the same with your Web article writing business. You must invest to grow your business. If you're not prepared to spend some of the money you make in growing your business (in buying advertising, paying for domain names and Web hosting etc) you're still trapped in a "job" mindset.
One of your primary investments will be in knowledge. As you may know, I write and sell ebooks and ecourses. However, I also buy ebooks and other material to build my knowledge and skills. Over a year, I spend many thousands of dollars on increasing my knowledge, and I'm happy to do it.
If you want to make a six-figure income, you can, but you must invest in your business to do so.
* Realize that you need to write, and keep writing
As a Web writer (or any other kind of writer) you must WRITE. I have a set word count that I must meet every day - and I meet it. This is a commitment I make to myself, my writing clients, my students, and to my business.
Writers write - it's not optional. For a writer, writing is the entire job description. So if you want to make a great income writing, you must write. If you find that you continually procrastinate, then you're not ready to run a Web-articles business.
So there you have some of the requirements for making a great income writing articles. Web article writers are making $20,000 a month just writing articles, and you can too, IF you keep those requirements in mind.
