Amazon's ebook reader: here we go again

Wired News reports "Amazon Kindle Coming Early Next Week":
Amazon's ugly-as-hell prototype e-Book reader will make landfall—in sleeker form, one hopes—on Monday or Tuesday next week.
Will this reader launch ebooks into the mainstream? I'd love to think so, but after a decade of ebook readers, it's hard to believe that this one could be the killer machine.
