Blogging rebels? Heck, the last time I won a rebel tag was in the 1960s. In high school.
The NYT's patronizing "As Corporate Ad Money Flows Their Way, Bloggers Risk Their Rebel Reputation" annoys B.L. Ochman too. She says:
While I'm delighted to see that mainstream media is covering blogging, they still have a "gee whiz" attitude about blogging as a source of income or a marketing tool.
And what's with all the quotes in the article? Viz: "took off"; "affiliate networks"? It must be a new writing technique. Note to self: if I don't understand something, put it in quotes. That way readers will think that it's so quaint and so esoteric that they shouldn't expect to understand it either.
